Engagement: Marcy and Daniel

My childhood home was bright yellow and sat on top of a hill on a corner lot. It had a front porch that reached to each side of the house. My favorite part about the house was the double french doors that led to a screened-in porch with a bench swing hanging on one side. My Dad built us a tree house, sand box, and tree swing in the back yard.

I have a lot of memories in that house but the one I remember the best is when I was 5 years old I met a shy, 3 year old girl named Marcy in that very same sand box. As vividly as it was yesterday, I remember exactly where we were in my yard where I egged her on to eat grass and she ended throwing up all over her jeans and had to go home. Marcy drank pickle juice and dipped most of her food in vinegar. I always thought it was nasty, but then again I don't like either one of those things. We used to take all the blankets in the house and build huge forts. Her mom would come down and try to scare us in the middle of the night.

Unfortunately, I moved when I was eleven and we lost touch. I am thrown back into reality as we are not children running from yard to yard anymore and she is getting married this weekend. I feel completely honored and so extremely excited to be able to photograph her engagement and wedding. What a great privilege to document my friend's important day, as she has been a part of some of my best memories I have as a child.

Here are a few of the engagement pictures of Marcy and Daniel with wedding pictures to come very soon.

Aren't they cute?

After the fields we headed to a nearby old train stop

We ended the shoot with a view of the mountains tucked behind an open field and changing leaves

Doesn't she look so completely happy?

Congratulations Marcy and Daniel, I am so happy for you!
