Gifts Galore!

Whew, I tell you what... self-hosting a blog is not a fun thing to do. I *think* I finally have everything ready, but I have to wait 7-10 days for it to go live. That is what Alonzo, my new "help" friend, told me. We will see how that goes.

I did a shoot a couple of weeks ago with the Eppley girls that I have ready to post on my new blog. Hopefully it will be up and running so everyone can get caught up with some of my shoots. I did post some of the pictures on my Facebook Page, so check out the photos there.

Let me catch you up on my life...

We have been trying to grow grass in our yard, what a pain in the hinderman.

Jacob and I have discovered a beaver that lives in our neighborhood. Benji, the beaver. I saw him just the other day frolicking around in the grass on the skirts of a forest.

On another note, I feel very blessed by the people around me who know what I love and keep blessing me with gifts. Ruth, who I talked about in my last post, gave me a lot of blue mason jars just because she knew I loved them.

Scott and Jacob got me a couple of cameras from the 1950's just because they knew I was starting a collection for my office space.

I got a letter from Katie, one of my best friends and roommate in college, all the way from Africa! She has been there for almost a year spreading the great news of the Gospel with college students there.

Flossie, Jacob's mom, helped us buy some rocking chairs for our front porch so that we can finally spend time out there enjoying the straw that isn't really turning into grass.

And then my parents took us out for dinner the other day at Jacob's favorite place, Moe's.

Wow, so many blessings in my life.

Oh yes, Jacob got a new car. He got rid of his "woman vehicle" as he called it and got something more "manly." And if it there was light by the car, I would take a picture of that at night as I did everything else.

Well, I'll catch you later!

English Breakfast, please!

This weekend I had the privilege of working with my sister-in-law's to put together a bridal shower for Dwight and Stephanie. They live in Alabama so it was nice getting to spend time with family and friends before their big day.

So, we decided to make the shower a Tea Party. I found the idea on Pinterest (of course) to make the invitation into a tea bag. Pinterest knows everything. I went through a couple of designs before we decided on this one. We printed them on a regular printer and then cut the sides and punched the holes. Without stamps, the total cost was $12.00! Pretty reasonable, I'd say!

We had amazing ladies give us a lot of things to be able to pull this party off. We had real tea cups for each person to use and a lot of different tea options.

My favorite part... sugar cubes! I felt so classy.

Again, thank you Pinterest for inexpensive decoration ideas. These were made from paper bags.

Yes, I may have taken too many pictures of the decorations. Oh well.

Easter Eve

It was one of those days where I spent thirty minutes trying to get Miya, my stubborn dog, in from outside. She was hopping and prancing about as if we were playing tag, while my patience was wearing thin just as the sun was.

Although all of that was frustrating, I started my day out great making a homemade pizza with Jacob. I think next time I will get creative and use vegetables.

It went in looking somewhat healthy and came out looking extremely unhealthy. I could see my arteries clogging before my eyes as puddles of grease were over the entire thing.

When Jacob left for work, I went to my neighbor's house and cleaned with Flossie. The neighbor does not really exist yet, but I am hoping this might help me get a new one. My father-in-law is building the house, which should be done in about a week, so I thought I would give a little preview.

Obviously, the fireplace is not completely finished. There are going to be some random things in the pictures because I didn't feel like moving them. I think my favorite part about the house is all of the windows. There is so much light that floods the house during the day.

We ended the day with eating pizza... yes pizza for lunch and dinner. Flossie and I went to the grocery store to get ready for Easter tomorrow.

What an amazing gift Christ gave us by dying on the cross and returning from the tomb. A humbling reminder of how we need Him. Hope you and your family have a wonderful Easter!!

I'm Still Alive

This is what a blog drought looks like. However, though this blog seems like it is on the verge of death, I assure you that it very well could be. No, just kidding... slightly. I did take the plunge and I purchased a site that does not say "blogspot" or "wordpress." So as soon as I get just a couple of days of free time, I will reveal it.

In the meantime, here are my late April goals:

Finish the blog for crying out loud!
Start plans for a website
Do a "photography session swap" with Allie and Joe
Finish hanging things on the wall in the guest bedroom
Keep my hydrangeas alive
Finish reading my book I have been reading for months

And for the future...

Rebecca & Co's new website should be up soon with the pictures that I took
Tea Party bridal shower
Bridals
The photo session giveaway shoot
